The Chakras

The word chakra comes from Sanskrit and means "wheel" or "circle". We mostly work with the seven major chakras, found from the base of the spine to the top of the head. Each chakra is associated with multiple physiological functions and a colour.
The chakras contain life energy (prana, chi) to vitalise the physical body. The function of the chakras is to spin and draw in this Universal Life Force Energy to keep the spiritual, mental, emotional and physical health of the body in balance (see also Auras).
